22 July, 11.30 a.m., Opera Foyer Hall
State Opera-Ruse received as a donation from Switzerland an electric organ.
The instrument was created in the 1980s, and its functionality was constructed in a way that allowed it to largely replace the classical pipe organ in a wide part of the organ repertoire. It has two manuals, a pedal of two octaves, and a known range of registers that can be used in several dozen combinations.
The instrument was chosen by the Swiss organist Rolf Emmenegger and only a week ago was placed in the foyer of the Rousse Opera. Already more than a hundred children who have attended the educational concerts in the last few days dedicated to musical instruments have had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the sound of the instrument.
The organ was delivered to Ruse to participate in the world premiere of the opera Polyhedron, composed by the famous Bulgarian organist and teacher of harmony and polyphony Prof. Neva Krasteva. The premiere will take place on 22 October this year with the participation of soloists from Vienna under the baton of the Austrian conductor Bistra Dilyanoff and directed by Boyan Ivanov - director of the Ruse Drama Theatre.
On 22 July, Saturday at 11.30 in the foyer of the Rousse Opera prof. Neva Krasteva will hold a public demonstration of the possibilities of the digital organ and Bistra Dilyanoff will open the curtain on the new creative project "Polyhedron".
Neva Krasteva (photos below) graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory with a degree in musicology under prof. Ю. Holopov and organ under prof. Л. Roizman. She specialized in organ in Prague and Zurich under prof. И. Reinberg. Since 1973 he has been a lecturer at NMA "Prof. П. Vladigerov". He organized the first organ class in Bulgaria in 1978 at the National Academy of Music and continues to teach it at the NBU. He is professor of counterpoint and fugue.
In 1978 he attended a composition masterclass in Poland where he presented his "Heterophonic Miniatures for Organ". He is a member of the Leipzig Bach Society. Since 1974 he has been active as a concert organist in Bulgaria, Europe and some Asian countries. He has made recordings for the Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television. As a composer, and in his overall professional development as a theorist, teacher and performer, he affirms music as a carrier of a timeless deeply ethical spiritual message. Neva Krasteva is the author of vocal-instrumental works with organ; works for organ; chamber vocal-instrumental music; choral music, etc. She writes music-theoretical research and studies, most of which are collected in three volumes. The opera Polyhedron was her first work for the stage.
