Art is the fragrance of life

Art is the fragrance of life

In the premiere performance of "Ball with masks" on 19 November 2020 at 7 pm at the Dokhodno Buda - Ruse we will attend a performance with an extremely interesting cast. For the State Opera - Ruse it is an honour and a pride that a performer of Tsvetelina Vassileva's stature is now a member of the Opera's permanent solo cast and will perform one of the central roles, that of Amelia. It was in this opera that Tsvetelina Vassileva began her career on the stage of Sofia Opera.

"Art is the fragrance of life, it creates man. I am convinced that without art life is impossible. These are the words of Tsvetelina Vassileva, who has conquered the opera podiums of Europe, America, Australia, Japan and has sung with world celebrities such as Netrebko, Hvorostovsky, Jose Cura, Luis Lima and many others. For the winner of numerous prestigious awards from opera competitions, the world press does not spare its superlatives:

Sunday Times

"Tsvetelina Vassileva, the Bulgarian soprano who sang the title role, has to be one of the great operatic finds of the decade. She has a huge, highly focused voice and a dynamic stage presence that makes her a major star before she has even finished her first phrase."

The Daily Telegraph

"My personal Palme d'Or goes to Tsvetelina Vassileva - a Bulgarian soprano who attacks the title role with fearless precision and total commitment."

The Spectator

"Tsvetelina Vassileva, the Bulgarian soprano who sang the title role, is perhaps one of the great operatic discoveries of the festival. She sounds like she is ready to do almost anything."

Her performance of the role of Amelia in "Masked Ball" will not be her first participation with the team of State Opera - Ruse. In the past year, she has successfully guested us in two other roles that are crowning for her - Tosca and Turandot.
