On February 15, 2026, in the Great Hall of the Income Building in Ruse, one of the most iconic symphonic works of the 20th century was performed — the Seventh Symphony "Leningrad" by Dmitri Shostakovich. Under the baton of Maestro Nayden Todorov, the 90 musicians of the Orchestra of the State Opera – Ruse dedicated their performance to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the great composer. The concertmaster of the evening was Tamara Lazarova, in partnership with Alyona Chernokoz. The Seventh Symphony Leningradska of Dmitri Shostakovich. From the very first notes, it became clear that the audience would witness an extraordinary musical event. The 'Leningrad' Symphony is rarely included in concert programs due to its scale, the demands on a large orchestral ensemble, and its intense musical activity lasting nearly 80 minutes. That is precisely why every performance of it becomes a cultural highlight of national significance.
The performance in Ruse provoked intense and sincere reactions. “Magnificent, grandiose, my soul is satisfied!”, “Great conductor, great orchestra! Bravo!” – excited listeners shared after the concert. Under Maestro Todorov's baton, the symphony revealed all its dramaturgical power and emotional depth. The orchestra sounded unified and inspired, and the music seemed to go beyond the limits of the hall and reach the most intimate corners of the human soul. „Великолепно, грандиозно, засити ми се душата!“, „Голям диригент, голям оркестър! Браво!“ – споделяха развълнувани слушатели след концерта. Под палката на Маестро Тодоров симфонията разкри цялата си драматургична мощ и емоционална дълбочина. Оркестърът звучеше единно и вдъхновено, а музиката сякаш излезе извън пределите на залата и достигна до най-съкровените кътчета на човешката душа.
