On May 30th the overseas tour of the Orchestra of the State Opera-Ruse in Great Britain begins.
Rousse musicians will participate in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the beloved Walt Disney Production Company.
The run of shows begins in Glasgow on 31 May and continues with appearances at arenas in Leeds, Liverpool, London on 4 June, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and the International Centre in Bournemouth on 8 June, where the tour will conclude.
Like a captivating magical dance, the orchestra of the State Opera - Ruse will conquer the British halls with a brand new programme specially created in honour of Disney's 100th anniversary. The Ruse Opera Orchestra will be the first instrumental ensemble to premiere the new Disney programme. The ensemble has been specially constructed as a classic big Hollywood orchestra (Hollywood Sound Orchestra).
The Disney in Concert show will be presented in the UK by Senbla and is produced by Semmel Concerts, Disney100. For audiences, this concert is an engaging multimedia experience featuring legendary film scenes projected on a huge screen, while the animation makes an impact through the unforgettable musical moments performed live by the orchestra. Together with the Rousse Opera Orchestra, the tour features star soloists and ensemble performers from previous Disney in Concert tours in Western Europe.
Each of the accompanying soloists, who will share the stage with the Rousseau orchestra, has an impressive and rich artistic biography in music and theatre, including successful performances in the West End and Broadway. Betsy Eve, Charlie Byrne, Clive September, Anton Zetterholm, Roberta Valentini, Georgina Hagen, Richard-Salvador Wolff, Tobias Joh and Masengu Kaninda are just some of the performers announced to date.
The Rousse Opera Orchestra will recreate the scores of the greatest songs from films such as "The Lion King", "Aladdin", "The Frozen Kingdom", "Beauty and the Beast", "Mary Poppins", "Encanto" and others. The programme also includes surprising highlights from the worlds of Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel.
The musical direction of the tour is in the hands of conductor Wilhelm Keitel, who ensures the success of the performances. The Ruse musicians rehearse intensively under his guidance. Conductor Wilhelm Keitel, who was born in Schwäbisch Hall, studied with Wolfgang Tromer in Düsseldorf, Charles Mackerras in Vienna, Leonard Bernstein and Seiji Ozawa in Tanglewood and New York. He has worked with Christoph Eschenbach and the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich, and at Covent Garden, London. Wilhelm Keitel has an extensive opera repertoire, numerous television and radio recordings, his own CD label and publications. In recent seasons he has preferred to work with concert programmes such as Disney in Concert. At the beginning of the year, after a preliminary familiarization rehearsal, Maestro Keitel, strongly impressed by the potential of the Ruse Opera and Symphony Orchestra, personally chose the creative partnership with the Ruse Opera.
success!
