One of the most wonderful gifts that the troupe of the State Opera-Ruse will present to its fans and friends on the eve of the New Year is the premiere performance on December 29 of the new production of the operetta "The Bat", created by the celebrated Austrian composer Johann Strauss Jr. to the rhythm of Viennese ballroom dancing, which has the amazing ability to fill you with joy and cheerfulness from the very first chords of the overture, which sound like the thunder of champagne bottle corks and draw you into the dizzying plot of the work.

"The Bat" - this is a classic example of a dance operetta, singing the bright emotions, love passions and family peripeteia, revealed against the background of the wonderful melodies of the waltz, polka, chardash and quadrille. The musical work has always enjoyed the success and sympathy of fans of the operetta genre. The plot of "The Bat" is always relevant with the themes it presents to us - the eternal problems in marital relationships, love and jealousy, joy and disappointment. The spicy situation in which the main characters find themselves reveals to the audience a whole palette of emotions.

The melodramatic and comedic style of the operetta, masterfully combined with irony and subtle humour, is always easily perceived by the audience, and Strauss's beautiful music creates a feeling of festivity and happiness. Good luck!

Aleksander Mutafchiyski - director
