Rodrigo Trosino talks about his role in TRAVIA

This Sunday, 26 January, on the stage of the Doge's House, as Alfred in Giuseppe Verdi's operatic masterpiece "La Traviata", will be guest tenor of Italian-Mexican origin Rodrigo Trosino, whom the Rousseau audience already knows well from the performances in which they have seen him here.
He made his professional debut in Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Bulgaria, where he was well received and appreciated by the audience and his colleagues.
Here is what the young opera singer shared on the eve of the impressive performance with which the Rousse Opera recently celebrated its 75th anniversary:
How long has it been since you sang on the Ruse stage and what feelings do you have towards the prestigious opera theatre of Ruse?
My last performance on stage in Ruse was in the opera Lucia di Lammermoor in 2018. The feeling for me now is to return home, because my realization as an opera singer happened in your city in 2015. I am extremely grateful to Rousse and all my colleagues here who have made me feel at home. Ruse soothed my soul for my big dreams of singing opera, which I still perform everywhere. Thank you forever Ruse!
Do you remember when you first performed the role of Alfred and where?
I first performed the role of Alfred from the opera La Traviata in 2014 at the prestigious Veneto Opera Festival in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, directed by Stefano Romani and conducted by Federico Bertillani. It was an exceptional experience for me...
How do you feel in the shoes of the young romantic, lovelorn man with noble blood?
Alfred is deeply in love and loves Violetta with all his heart. Moreover, the young nobleman believes in love without reservation and is not interested in her profession as a courtesan. He is convinced that she will change if he has the opportunity to show true love and knows nothing of this drama in which he himself becomes a victim. I like his idyllism and ability to disregard society's rules when protecting his love.
What do you think is the message of this moving work?
I am extremely moved by the beautiful art of this magical music written by Giuseppe Verdi. I think that Alexandre Dumas, the son, the author of the novel The Lady with the Camellias, on which the opera La Traviata is based, wanted to remind us that we have 'invented' rules, many of which are useful for building values and good manners, and for peace in this world.
However, through Alfred's father, Georges Germont, the excess of rules that get in the way of being able to enjoy life with the appropriate freedom and respect for others (even our own child) to be happy with whomever we find true love with is highlighted!
