With enormous gratitude, excitement, and pride, we share that the artists and team of the State Opera – Ruse were awarded four of the most prestigious cultural recognitions of the city – the "Ruse" Award and the "Young Creator" Award 2026!
We express our sincere gratitude to the Municipality of Ruse for the high appreciation and recognition of the work, dedication, and mission of all the creators and professionals who stand behind the successes of the Ruse Opera.
In the "Performing Arts" category, the individual award was received by the chief conductor of the opera, Maestro Dimitar Kosev – for his devoted creative work, the success of the musical "ZORRO," and the realization of significant cultural events.
The collective award was given to the team of the musical 'ZORRO' – a show that has become a cultural phenomenon with its scale, artistic strength, and unifying spirit.

The award for "Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Art and Culture" was presented to the soloist Stoyan Stoyandzhov – an artist who devoted 40 years of his life to the Ruse opera stage and left a bright mark in the cultural history of Ruse.
Plamen Ovcharov – a performing artist at the State Opera – Ruse, became the winner of the 'Young Creator' Award 2026 for his talent and contribution to the visual world of our performances.
A particular pride for us are also the young talents specially recognized by the Municipality of Ruse, Veronika Ilieva and Marina Petrova – long-time artists of the Ruse Children's Opera, who continue to prove the strength and significance of the school in shaping the new generation of artists.
A particularly emotional moment in the ceremony was the speech by the director of the State Opera – Ruse, Plamen Beikov, who addressed the young artists with the words: 'Help me exalt you!'
Words that carry the meaning of our mission – to provide a stage, trust, and a field of expression for young talented people who will shape the cultural face of the future.
These awards are an honour, but also a responsibility.
