June 1 – “JOURNEY IN THE MUSICAL”

With the courage of dreamers and the inspiration of young performers, the children of the Ruse Children’s Opera invite the audience on an exciting journey through the world of musical theatre. The concert-show brings to life scenes from beloved titles presented over the years by the children’s troupe – vibrant, sincere, and full of energy.
Under the baton of conductor Svilen Dimitrov, with stage direction by Rositsa Devedjieva and script by Iliya Devedjiev, this event is not only a celebration of children’s creativity but also a powerful artistic finale and a new beginning for the youngest bearers of the operatic tradition in Ruse.
Musicians from the Orchestra of the State Opera Ruse will also perform, offering a loving and attentive musical backdrop to this children’s spectacle.

June 8 – “TOSCA” by Giacomo Puccini
Opera in three acts | Dohodno Zdanie, 7:00 PM
A story of passion, freedom, and deadly jealousy –Toscareturns to the stage with direction by Orlin Anastassov, who weaves a contemporary visual language into Puccini’s timeless classic.
In the role of Floria Tosca, hear the magnificent Tsvetelina Vasileva, joined by Boris Lukov as Cavaradossi and Dobromir Momekov as the sinister Scarpia. The intense drama is enhanced by stage techniques and 3D mapping by Polina Gerasimova – a multimedia symphony of image and light.
The musical palette is led by conductor Dimitar Kosev, with the choir prepared by Stelyana Dimitrova-Hernani.
With the participation of: Momchil Milanov, Stoyan Stoyandzhov, Bogdan Lupea, Stefan Penchev, Georgi Todorov, Gergana Garvalova, as well as children from the Ruse Children’s Opera – an emotional blend of generations and talents.

June 10 – “THE ROMANTIC GLINKA”
Chamber Concert | Philharmonia Hall, 7:00 PM
Mikhail Glinka – the founding father of Russian classical music – will be presented in an elegant chamber format, lovingly performed by musicians from the Orchestra of the State Opera Ruse.
The vocal program will flourish with the voices of Zvetelina Vassileva, Neli Petkova, Gloria Pencheva, and Boris Lukov. The repertoire leads us into the magical realm of romantic sensibility and Slavic melodic beauty.

June 15 – “CARMEN” – ballet
Ballet to the music of Georges Bizet | Dohodno Zdanie, 7:00 PM
The drama of "Carmen" resonates with a contemporary voice in this production choreographed by Natalia Osipova, blending the passion of the classic libretto with the expressiveness of neoclassicism.
Main charecters: Irena Barbukova (Carmen), Giuseppe Sorrentino (Don José), Davide Diodato (the Toreador), and Tiago Victor Santana (Fate – turned into an independent character).
Special vocal performances by Petya Tsoneva, Petar Kostov, and Alexander Krunev enrich the production, while conductor Viliana Valcheva unites the stage and musical artistry into a powerful emotional narrative.
Set design by Sebastian Malasch, artistic director Vesela Vassileva, assistant conductor Velislava Skrilova, stage assistant Elena Koleva, along with the choir and orchestra of the State Opera Ruse complete this grand and deeply affecting performance.

June 21 – “TANGO WITH PIAZZOLLA”
Concert-performance | “Stage Under the Stars” Festival, 8:30 PM
On the open-air stage in front of the opera house, the night will be shaken by the rhythm of Argentine tango in a passionate musical revelation.
The inspiration comes from Piazzolla – the man who turned tango into a classical genre.
Soloists of the concert include Veronika Todorova (accordion), Andreana Nikolova (mezzo-soprano), Velizar Prodanov (violin), Ventsislav Spirov (bassoon), ballet dancers, and of course – the Orchestra of the Ruse State Opera conducted by Dimitar Kosev.
Tamara Lazarova leads the orchestra as concertmaster, and once again, choreography is by Natalia Osipova, weaving movement into the fiery fabric of Piazzolla’s music.
