I. Information about the Institute:
State Opera Ruse is a cultural institute consisting of soloists, a choir, a ballet, and an orchestra.
Under the baton of some of the world-renowned conductors — Kurt Masur, Carlo Zecchi, Dmitri Kitayenko, Kurt Sanderling, Evgeny Svetlanov, Valery Gergiev, and others — we have developed and continue to develop as one of the best and leading orchestras in Bulgaria, with a history of over 100 years. Dmitri Shostakovich has worked with the orchestra, as well as other prominent musicians such as Franco Ferrara, Carlo Maria Giulini, Katia Ricciarelli, Boris Belkin, Yuri Bashmet, and many others.
The orchestra is located in Ruse – the city known as Little Vienna.
The ensemble has had numerous international tours and performances in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Portugal, the United States, and others. It has recordings in the Golden Fund of the Bulgarian National Radio and Berlin Radio, as well as vinyl records and CDs released by various European and American companies.
