IN MEMORIAM

State Opera-Ruse has parted with one of its dearest artists.
On 3 October the Ballet Master of the Ballet of the Rousse Opera left us
MARIANA ZAHARIEVA
Half a century ago, in 1973, she joined the ballet company of the Ruse Opera.
Her name is inscribed in the history of the Rousse Opera with her remarkable performances in the roles of Strana ("Nestinarka"), Gayane ("Gayane"), in "Bolero" and in many other central and character roles.
At the height of his artistic maturity, he began working as both a teacher and a tutor. She is one of the founders of the Classical Dance class at the "Prof. В. Stoyanov" in Ruse. Among her graduates from her first class there are names of ballet artists who have successfully performed on the stage of Bulgarian and foreign opera theatres.
Mariana Zaharieva was respected for her unique choreographic memory - she adapted and staged The Nutcracker, Giselle and The Wicked Girl on her own. Among her choreographic achievements are productions of numerous operas and operettas, including Eugene Onegin, La Traviata, Aida, Masked Ball, Samson and Delilah, Prince Igor, The Merry Widow, The Bat, and Countess Maritza.
Mariana Zaharieva's pedagogical, rehearsal and choreographic activity on the stage of the State Opera-Ruse was active and fruitful until the last day of her rich and dedicated life to the art of ballet.
For the artists of the Ruse ballet company Mariana was like a caring mother, a faithful friend and a delicate advisor - ready to give everyone and at any time with affectionate support.
