Georgia is world-renowned for its centuries-old musical traditions and, above all, for the beautiful voices and remarkable musicality of its singers. Today, Georgian vocalists are among the finest interpreters of classical musical art. The State Music Center of Batumi has chosen to perform on the stage of the State Opera Ruse. The most distinguished soloists, accompanied by master pianists, will present a rich concert program in two parts – the first featuring works by Georgian composers, and the second showcasing some of the most beautiful arias by Verdi, Bizet, and Gounod, as well as by the great composers of the Verismo era – Puccini, Mascagni, and Leoncavallo. An interesting detail from the history of the State Opera Ruse is the inclusion in its repertoire of the famous Georgian comic opera “Keto and Kote,” which was performed with great success in the mid-1950s. More than half a century later, fragments from this classic masterpiece of Georgian musical and theatrical culture will once again resonate on the Ruse stage.
