“Fiery Danube” Festival
The river - the eternal Danube - has always inspired the people living along its banks to broaden their horizons and transcend national boundaries in their minds. For centuries, the nations inhabiting the Danube Basin, the longest river in Europe, have seen themselves as part of a greater whole - united not only by economic interests, but also deeply connected through enduring cultural ties, exchanges, and mutual influences. These historical processes, still active today, are brought into focus by the Ruse State Opera and the organizers of the “Fiery Danube” Festival, together with the citizens of the town with the most beautiful sunset over the Danube - Tutrakan. They find expression in cultural events dedicated to the river, such as the concert “From Vienna to Tutrakan.” With a rich program featuring music created along the shores of this eternal European river, the audience will experience the beauty and power of cultural interaction - one that unites different peoples in the shared spirit of European musical culture, where each contributes their voice while preserving their unique national character.
In the program:
Music by composers born in the countries along the Danube River.
