The Romantic Glinka

The chamber concert with works by the famous Russian composer Mikhail Glinka (1804-1857) is a special event for the musicians of the Ruse Opera. The program, composed with great love and enthusiasm by several singers and instrumentalists, peeks into the magical sensual world of the composer from the era of Romanticism. A descendant of an old Polish noble family, a child of a noble family that patronized the art of music, a student in Italy of the bel canto composers Bellini and Donizetti, a friend and like-minded person of the French composer and conductor Berlioz, Mikhail Glinka grew up in the European musical treasury as the creator of the timeless aesthetics of the Russian national opera. As a chamber composer, he is unusually emotional, tender, unforgettable with his sensuality and equal to his contemporaries from Romantic musical Europe.
