Violin soloist-group leader
Velizar Prodanov graduated high school from Ruse National School of Arts "Prof.Vesselin Stoyanov" in Anelia Popova's violin class. He received his bachelor's degree at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" with a violin specialty in the class of Prof. Yosif Radionov.
At the end of his academic training, in the period 2008-2010, he was the concertmaster of the Pioneer Philharmonic. After 2010, he participates in numerous concerts with trios, quartets, and jazz ensembles in South America, Asia, and Europe.
Since the beginning of 2012 Velizar Prodanov has been an artist-orchestrator at the State Opera-Ruse. Since September 2017 he has been the leader of the Second Violin.
Velizar Prodanov has a strong interest in various musical styles and genres. His interest is particularly strong in the field of jazz, where he can show his improvisation skills combined with technically difficult challenges. This defines his participation in the Jazz Syndicate - Ruse formation, which is common and characteristic for Ruse, which is known as a city of jazz music. He is a regular participant in solo and chamber concerts of the Ruse Philharmonic. The violinist also participates with great interest and willingness in musical projects with rock, pop and Jazz music.
Velizar Prodanov undertakes various concerts in the country with both jazz music and classical music. In the course of the last creative season Velizar Prodanov also participated in several different concerts with music from the Baroque era.
The strongest and most challenging performance of the young violinist was his participation in the instrumental ensemble, which presented the performance of Igor Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Story" on the stage of the Ruse Opera. The violin part in this ensemble is mostly solo. It passes through the trials of various technical difficulties and through the trials of different genre musical styles, broken through the composer's complex creative thought. Velizar Prodanov's diverse genre and style explorations and interests contributed to his successful performance and interpretation of A Soldier's Story.
