Viliana Valtcheva was born in Varna, Bulgaria. She completed her high school education at the School of Arts in her hometown, majoring in piano. Immediately after that, she is accepted at the Hochschule der Künste in the capital of Switzerland, Bern, and later she studies chamber music and opera accompaniment in Neuchâtel. At the same time, she started conducting, which took her to the Lucerne University of Music in the class of the long-time chief conductor of the Zurich Opera - Prof. Ralf Weikert, where in 2010 she graduated with honors her Master's degree in opera-symphonic conducting. After graduating followed master classes with renowned conductors such as Bernard Haitink, David Zinman, Zubin Meta, and Pierre Boulez. Viliana Valtcheva is a finalist in the famous international conducting competition in Cadaques, Spain. She is also an active conductor in the Berlin Forum "Das Kritische Orchester", formed by musicians from the most prestigious German orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, Bayerische Rundfunk Orchestra, Dresden Staatskapelle. In 2013, she starts working at the Lucerne Opera Theater as a tutor and assistant to the chief conductor, where she is engaged for three creative seasons. The same year, she also receives a place to practice in a new production of the Zurich Opera under the chief conductor Fabio Luisi. 2014, Viliana Valtcheva is noticed by Maestro Borislav Ivanov and is invited as a full-time conductor in her hometown Varna, where she had the opportunity to make many new productions, among which the complex titles such as Andre Chenier by U.Giordano, Adriana Lecouvreur by Francesco Chilea, Norma by Bellini, Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti, Don Giovanni by Mozart and many others. In the years from 2008 to 2014, she receives the renowned Zeno-Karl Schindler (Geneva) scholarship for medieval German music, as well as the Richard Wagner-Stiftung-Bayreuth scholarship, for studying the works of Richard Wagner in Bayreuth and Venice. In January 2018, she makes her debut on the stage of the Teatro Francesco Chilea in Reggio Calabria with the famous Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi, and later that year she stages Bellini's opera Norma with great success. She conducts successfully at the Opera in Plovdiv, Biel/Solothurn (Switzerland), and she is also part of the "Knobelsdorf" ensemble at the Staatskapelle Berlin. Since 2021, she has been a full-time conductor on the stage of the State Opera-Ruse, and in January 2022, at the invitation of the management, Viliana Valtcheva made her debut with the Sofia Philharmonic. In July 2022, at the invitation of the renowned Argentine tenor and conductor Jose Cura, she took part in the first edition of the "Palešak" festival in Orebić, Croatia. Since 2021, Viliana Valtcheva has been a full-time conductor on the stage of the State Opera-Ruse.
Masterclasses with renowned conductors such as Bernard Haitink, David Zinman, Zubin Mehta, Pierre Boulez followed. Viliana Valcheva is a finalist of the renowned International Conducting Competition in the city of Prague.
