Dimitar Kosev was born Ruse in 1992. The young conductor and pianist graduated from the National School of Arts "Prof. Veselin Stoyanov" in Evgeni Zhelyazkov's class. Immediately after completing his secondary education, he was admitted to the Prayner Konservatorium – Vienna, Austria, majoring in Conducting and Piano under Prof. Maximilian Cencic and Prof. Stefan Möller. In 2014, at the age of 21, he graduated from the Conservatory with full honors. Shortly after, he assists at the conservatory of Prof. Josef Stolz in the class of opera mastery. He has worked together with Passion Artists and the Vienna Traditional Classic Orchestra. Laureate of Lothar Bandermann's First Prize for Modern Music in the mastery class Vienna Young Pianists VYP Academy - Vienna 2006 and winner of the Edvard Grieg performance award in 2007. Dimitar Kosev makes his debut on the conducting podium in Bulgaria in November 2013 at the opening of the "Franz Schubert" International Competition in Ruse. At the beginning of 2015, he conducts the New Year's concert of the Ruse Philharmonic. Since February 2016, he is a full-time conductor at the State Opera-Stara Zagora, and since October 2017 - at the State Opera-Ruse. Conductor of premiere performances of Don Pasquale, The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte), The Marriage of Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), The Barber of Seville (Il barbiere di Siviglia), La Vie parisienne (Parisian Life), Die Csárdásfürstin (The Queen of the Czardasha), The Madcap (Bulgarian opera "Lud Gidiya), Nabucco, La belle Hélène(The Beautiful Helena), "Petya and the Wolf", Die Fledermaus ("The Bat"), "La Traviata" and many others. He is the conductor of the performances "The Classic Meets ABBA" and "The Classic Meets Queen". He is the conductor and initiator of the concerts "45 years "Diana Express - Symphony 2019", "I long for you" - Group Signal (signal - "sign") and Ruse Philharmonic, "Queen - The show goes on", "Children in Time" - Deep Purple & Rainbow tribute concert, "Here we go...again" - Whitesnake tribute concert and "False hero" - Todor Kolev's classic. Puts the world premiere of the rock symphony "Queen's Hits" by Lubomir Denev. In July 2016, he conducted the premiere of Kalin Veliov and Tumbaito's performance "Symphonic Fiesta". At the end of November 2016, at the special invitation of the world-famous mezzo-soprano Veselina Katsarova, Dimitar conducts a performance at the State Opera-Stara Zagora. It was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of the composer Krasimir Kyurcchiyski. In 2017, he closed the football match between Barcelona and Hristo Stoichkov's team, conducting the song "Barcelona" by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé. On December 28, 2018, he conducted the Christmas concert of the Sofia Philharmonic in the "Bulgaria" hall. Outside of his conducting career, Dimitar Kosev has also played in Division One, Lumberjack Blues Band, SIGNAL, Jimi Nicoll Blues Band, Paulo Luemba – Family Business, Alive´N Kickin, Kristal Bardess as bassist, pianist, and drummer as well. He also played one stage with Vasil Petrov, Diana Express, Poli Genova, Mariana Popova, Lucy Dyakovska, SIGNAL, Dimo ​​Stoyanov – P.I.F., Nencho Balabanov, Antoaneta Dobreva-Neti, Mania Duet, Nikolo Kotsev, Teodor Koichinov, Divna, Adriana Nikolova-Pechenkata, Panayot Panayotov, Zvezdi Keremedchiev ("Ahat" -"agate"), Konstantin and Alexander Vladigerov, Kalin Veliov, Stoyan Yankulov-Stundzhi. In 2015, along with the acoustic project "Kristal Bardess", he is selected by the producer of The Rolling Stones group in the top 20 of the world contest for original music "Call for Legends" of the Shure company. He won the "BG Talents" author's music competition and, he and Bozhidara Simeonova were finalists in the "Burgas and the Sea" competition (2016). Winner of the JCI award - "The most outstanding young persons of Bulgaria" in the category "Cultural achievement". In the same year, he was awarded the "Ruse" Golden Badge by the Mayor of Ruse at that time Plamen Stoilov, and was elected the face of Ruse and the city's cultural ambassador. Part of Darik Radio's ranking - "40 under 40" for young and inspiring people of 2018. Conductor Dimitar Kosev has been honored with the prestigious "Golden Feather" award for 2019. The prestigious "Golden Feather" awards have been awarded annually since 1995 for contributions to Bulgarian culture and art. He is also the winner of the "Young Musician of the Year" award for 2020, awarded by the BNR (Bulgarian National Radio).

Dimitar Kosev made his debut on the conducting podium in Bulgaria in November 2013 at the opening of the International Franz Schubert Competition in Ruse.

At the beginning of 2015 he conducted the New Year Concert of the Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra. Since February 2016 he has been a full-time conductor at the State Opera Stara Zagora, and since October 2017 - at the State Opera Ruse.

In 2015, together with the acoustic project "Kristal Bardess'', he was selected by the producer of the band The Rolling Stones in the top 20 of the global competition for original music "Call for Legends" of the company Shure.

He won the BG Talents competition for original music and together with Bozidara Simeonova were finalists of the Burgas and the Sea competition (2016).

Winner of the JCI Award "The Most Outstanding Young Personalities of Bulgaria" in the category "Cultural Achievement". In the same year he was awarded with the Golden Badge "Ruse" by the Mayor of Ruse Municipality Plamen Stoilov and was chosen as the face of Ruse and the cultural ambassador of the city. Part of Darik Radio's "40 under 40" ranking for young and inspiring personalities of 2018.

Conductor Dimitar Kosev was awarded the prestigious Golden Quill Award for 2019. The prestigious Golden Quill awards have been given annually since 1995 for contributions to Bulgarian culture and art. He is also the winner of the Young Musician of the Year Award for 2020, awarded by the Bulgarian National Radio.
