Tenor

The tenor Ivan Penchev was born in 1992 in Ruse.

He graduated from the Ruse National School of Arts "Prof.Vesselin Stoyanov" with a major in classical singing in the class of the well-known vocal pedagogue Georgi Deliganev. In 2012, he began his education at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" in the class of Prof. Ilka Popova and Acad. Dr. Nikolay Motsov. At the National Academy, he took a master's class in Arts in the class of Acad. Plamen Kartalov. Even as a student in 2014, the young singer participated in the children's performances of the National Opera in Sofia. Ivan Penchev participated in the master classes in Bulgarian baritone with international recognition Ivan Konsulov ​​in the Music Festival "March Music Days" - Ruse, in the master class for interpretation of French music led by Vera Nikolova and Olivier Doria in Sofia and in the International master class of the world-famous Bulgarian tenor Kaludi Kaludov in Varna, as well as in the master class of another Bulgarian tenor with international recognition - Emil Ivanov in the Music Festival "Varna Summer". Ivan Penchev participated in concerts as a soloist of the Sofia Philharmonic "Symfonieta-Sofia", Shumen Philharmonic, Academic Symphony Orchestra, etc. Ivan Penchev is a laureate of the National Competition for Young Instrumentalists and Singers "Svetoslav Obretenov", the Academic Competition "Prof. Iliya Yosifov", the First Academic Competition for Operetta and Musical in Sofia. One of the remarkable appearances of the young singer was his participation on September 25, 2016, in the program of the Sofia Philharmonic on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich's birth. Due to its success, the program was also presented in Ruse - the city of which the genius Russian composer is an honorary citizen. At the beginning of 2017, Ivan Penchev is an organizer and participant in the "Bridge between Generations" concert in his hometown. At the end of 2016, Ivan Penchev participated in the solemn concert "95 years of the National Academy of Music" in Sofia, and in the spring of 2017, he was one of the selected participants in a presentation tour of the distinguished graduates of the National Academy of Music in the opera houses in Plovdiv, Burgas, and Stara Zagora. Since 2017, Ivan Penchev has been a full-time artist-soloist at the Ruse State Opera. On the stage of the Ruse Opera, the young tenor made his debut in the roles of Edwin ("The Queen of Chardasha"), The Cadi ("The Madcap"), Frontino from "The Strange Misunderstanding" by Rossini (first performance for Bulgaria), Abdalo ("Nabucco") and Malcolm ("Macbeth") in the operetta "Parisian Life" (La Vie Parisienne) and others. The singer participated in the productions of the Ruse Opera in the editions of the International Festival for Opera and Classical Music in Deva, Hunedoara Lyrica - Romania. Ivan Penchev and his wife Gloria Pencheva created a duet "Amore". The duo enjoys great success among the public and constantly receives invitations to participate, and its repertoire includes Bulgarian and foreign hits.

Ivan Penchev has participated in the masterclasses of the internationally acclaimed Bulgarian baritone Ivan Konsolov within the framework of the International Music Festival "March Music Days"- Ruse, in the masterclass for interpretation of French music led by Vera Nikolova and Olivier Doria in Sofia and in the International Masterclass of the world famous Bulgarian tenor Kaludi Kaludov in Varna, as well as in the masterclass of another internationally acclaimed Bulgarian tenor - Emil Ivanov within the framework of the International Music Festival "Varna Summer".

Ivan Penchev has performed as a soloist with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Shumen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Academic Symphony Orchestra and others.
