Petya Tsoneva was born in Ruse.
She graduated from the National School of Arts "Prof. Vesselin Stoyanov" - Ruse in her hometown with a degree in Classical Singing in the class of the established Bulgarian vocal pedagogue Georgi Deliganev. In 1997 she graduated from the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov ” in the class of the Bulgarian singer and pedagogue Prof. Blagovesta Karnobatlova. The professional path of the mezzo-soprano Petya Tsoneva began the following year with her participation in the productions of the newly established Bulgarian private opera company "Euro stage". There, the young singer debuted in the roles of Maddalena, Suzuki, and Fenena, which she successfully performed on many opera stages during the opera troupe's tours in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, France, and Portugal. In 2002, Petya Tsoneva debuted as Amneris at the Opera House in Wеls, Austria with the “Verdi Opera”'s troupe. In the next few creative seasons, the singer strongly enriches her repertoire by including the central mezzo-soprano roles of Azucena, Princess Eboli, Santuzza, Carmen, and Adalgiza, which she successfully performed in Austria, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and the United States. After 2003, Petya Tsoneva interpretively and vocally technically prepared all her roles under the artistic direction of the pedagogue Maya Popova - daughter, student, and follower of the school of the famous Bulgarian opera singer Prof. Mihail Popov. Since 2006 Petya Tsoneva has been a soloist of the State Opera-Ruse and actively participates in all major productions as Carmen, Amneris, Azucena, Santuzza, Ulrika ("A masked Ball"), Preciosila ("The Power of Fate"), Cherubino, Bertha, Prince Orlowski ( Die Fledermaus /The Bat), Nicklaus (Hoffmann's Stories), Ernestina (Rossini's The Strange Misunderstanding /L'equivoco stravagante), and many more. The singer also includes in her repertoire cantata oratorio works, among which are the requiems of Mozart and Verdi, "Stabat Mater" by Pergolesi and Rossini, the cantata "Alexander Nevsky" by Prokofiev, and others. Petya Tsoneva is one of the active participants in the educational initiatives of State Opera-Ruse. Petya Tsoneva is a sought-after partner and has visited all Bulgarian opera houses, and has toured in almost all European countries and 45 of the United States.
The professional career of mezzo-soprano Petya Tsoneva began the following year with her participation in the productions of the newly established Bulgarian private opera company Eurostage. Since 2003 Petya Tzoneva has been preparing all her roles interpretively and vocally under the artistic guidance of the teacher Maya Popova - daughter, pupil and follower of the school of the famous Bulgarian opera singer Prof. Mikhail Popov.
Since 2006 Petya Tsoneva has been a member of the soloist ensemble of the State Opera-Ruse and actively participates in all major productions, performing the roles of Carmen, Amneris, Azucena, Santuzza, Ulrica ("Masked Ball"), Preziosila ("The Power of Fate"), Cherubino, Berta, Prince Orlovsky ("The Bat"), Nicklaus "Hoffmann's Tales"), Ernestina ("Rossini's Strange Misunderstanding") and many more. The singer also includes in her repertoire cantata-oratorio works, among them Mozart's and Verdi's Requiems, Pergolesi's and Rossini's Stabat Mater, Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky cantata and others.
