Plamen Beykov (ARCM) has studied Opera singing at the Royal College of Music in London with the English bass-baritone Steven Roberts and the famous Italian soprano Grazziella Sciutti. He specialized at the Accademia di Arte e Cultura in Rome with Bulgarian bass Boris Christoff. In October 2016 Plamen Beykov started his education in The Opera stage directing Faculty at The National Music Academy „Prof. Pancho Vladigerov“. In 2020, he gets his master's degree in Music and Stage Direction at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia in Prof. Dr. Violeta Gorcheva's class. The concert repertoire of Plamen Beykov contains Missas and Oratorios which he performed in Italy, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Spain, and Great Britain. Among them Matthaeus Passion, Johannes Passion, Hohe Messe (Bach), Messiah, Israel in Egypt, The Creation (Haydn), Stabat Mater (Rossini), Mozart’s, Verdi’s and Brahms’ Requiems, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Symphony Nr.13 by Shostakovich. Concerts in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Russia, Spain, France, Greece, Italia, and Portugal include Solo Bass Parts in Cantatas, Oratorios, and Masses, Including prestigious Auditorio Nacional – Madrid, Palau de la Musica Catalana, and Teatro Liceu – Barcelona, Mozart Hall – Zaragoza, Tchaykovski Hall and Svetlanov Hall – Moscow, The Great Philharmonic Hall – Sanct Petersburg, The Symphony Hall – Osaka, etc. Vocal Chamber Concerts and Recitals are regularly with different programs (Vocal cycles by Mussorgsky, Grechaninov, Shostakovich, Brahms, and Mahler). Opera repertoire includes over 30 roles performed in Bulgaria, Russia, Serbia, the USA, the UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland, and Greece. Being an Associated Member of the Royal College of Music–London since 1997, he was leading a private singing and dramatic interpretation class. Since December 2006 Plamen Beykov is a soloist and in 2018 is a Dramaturgist also at the Rousse State Opera House, Bulgaria. As a stage director Plamen Beykov prepared „La voix humaine“ (Poulenc, 2016 and 2019), „Il Maestro di Musica“ (Pergolesi), „The Flames on the Night’s Sails” (Giorgos Minas), “Maria Dessislava” (Parashkev Hadzhiev), “The Soldier’s Story” (Stravinsky), “Kaffeekantate”(Bach) and “Il ballo delle ingrate” (Monteverdi) for Sofia Baroque Festival in December 2019’ “Le Nozze di Figaro” (Mozart), “Hamlet” (Joseph Summer - world premiere), “The Quest” (Carl Vollrath - European premiere) for Ruse State Opera.
He specialised at the Academy of Art and Culture with the famous Bulgarian singer Boris Hristov in Rome.
In 2020 she defended her Master's degree in Music and Stage Direction at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia in the class of Prof. Dr. Violeta Gorcheva.
Plamen Beykov's concert repertoire includes masses and oratorios which he has performed in Bulgaria, Italy, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Spain and Great Britain. These include Matthäus Passion, Johannes Passion, Bach's High Mass, Messiah and Israel in Egypt (Handel), The Creation (Haydn), Stabat Mater (Rossini), Mozart, Verdi and Brahms Requiems, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Shostakovich's Thirteenth Symphony.
His concert performances in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Russia, Spain, France, Greece, Italy and Portugal include the most prestigious concert halls - Auditorio Nacionai - Madrid, Palau de la Musica Catalana and Teatro Liceu - Barcelona, Tchaikovsky Hall and Svetlanov Hall at the International House of Music - Moscow and the Chamber Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Great Philharmonic Hall - St. Petersburg, the Philharmonic Hall in Osaka, etc.
The singer's operatic repertoire includes more than 30 roles performed in Bulgaria, Russia, Serbia, USA, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland and Greece.
As a director Plamen Beykov has realized the productions of "The Human Voice" (Francis Poulenc), "The Music Teacher" (J. B. Pergolesi), "Flames in the Sails of the Night" (Giorgos Minas), "Maria Dessislava" (Parashkev Hadzhiev), "The Soldier's Story" (Igor Stravinsky) and "The Coffee Cantata" (J.S. Bach), "The Ball of Ungrateful Women" (Claudio Monteverdi), "The Marriage of Figaro" (W. A. Mozart), "Hamlet" (Joseph Summer - world premiere), "Knight's March" (Carl Vollrath - European premiere).
An Associate Fellow of the Royal College of Music-London, he has taught his own private Classical Singing and Interpretation class since 1997.
Since December 2006 Plamen Beykov has been a soloist, since 2018 a dramaturge, and since 2022 a director of the State Opera-Ruse.
