On 25 August at 8.00 pm, the third round of the Third International Competition for Young Opera Singers - Tenors, "The Voice of Kamen", will take place on the ‘Opera Square’ stage.
The concert is entitled "The Artist and the City", and its highlight will be the announcement of the winner of the Audience Award. A professional SCHOEPS condenser microphone, used at the concert by the world-famous tenor Plácido Domingo in Varna in April this year, will be provided especially for the event in Ruse.

In the third round, the contestants will move beyond the traditional competition repertoire. Each of them will perform a piece of their own choosing, through which they will reveal their national identity, personal message and artistic individuality. At the end of the concert, the audience will vote to choose their favourite!

All candidates who have taken part in the competition will be eligible to participate in the third round, regardless of their results in the first two rounds. This will give the audience the opportunity to discover a different side to the artistic personality of each of the young performers.
The third international competition for young opera singers – tenors, "The Voice of Kamen", is organised by the Ruse State Opera and Kamen Chanev Foundation with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and with the cooperation and partnership of Ruse Municipality. The competition forms part of the National Cultural Calendar for 2026.
